Bicycle Rodeos highlight safety education in a fun and noncompetitive environment for kids. Run by Collective staff and community volunteers—with occasional assistance from the Des Moines Police Department—kids have the opportunity to learn street safety skills, things to be aware of as a cyclist, the importance of helmet safety, how to feel confident on their bikes, and more. Bike Rodeos also include bike safety checks and maintenance of existing bikes, as well as donations of helmets and locks to those who need them.
